Overall, Doha is built to impress with its skyline and cleanliness, but it’s important to remember that this comfort sits inside a more complicated reality.

Qatar is predictably expensive, and we didn’t include the cost of our hotel stay in the budget since it was included in our flight package to Vietnam.

Our hotel had a fantastic breakfast buffet, which we took advantage of to save on meals. We had some nice restaurant meals, but we also found some affordable options. The metro is extremely affordable and a convenient way to get around the city and taxis are also quite cheap. Overall, we managed to stay within our budget, but it was a close call.
